Troubleshooting

Having trouble? Here’s how to fix the most common issues.

We want your QR codes to work seamlessly, every time. Below are some quick fixes and tips to help you troubleshoot scanning issues, design problems, and platform errors.

My QR code won’t scan at all.

Check the URL – Make sure there are no typos or broken links

Contrast is key – The QR code foreground should be darker than the background. Avoid low-contrast colour combinations.

Test without a logo – Sometimes embedded logos interfere with scanning. Try generating a plain version to test.

Size matters – Make sure your printed code is at least 2 x 2cm (1 x 1 inch).

Avoid distortion – Don’t stretch or skew the code when resizing.

Try another device or scanner app – Some scanners are more reliable than others.

Make sure the foreground is darker than the background

My dynamic QR code has stopped working

Check your subscription – Dynamic QR codes remain active as long as your plan is active.

Is the code still enabled? – Log in to your dashboard and check the QR code status.

Check your link or file – If you’ve linked to a deleted file or broken page, the code won’t work.

Was it accidentally deleted or paused? – You can re-enable codes from your dashboard.

My contact (vCard) QR code is missing fields

Some devices don’t fully support vCard format – try a different scanner

Simplify the vCard by removing optional fields

The QR code looks fine, but doesn’t scan

Ensure the QR code is at least 2 x 2cm

Maintain quiet zone (margin) around the QR code

Test before printing at small sizes or on textured surfaces

Printing and design tips

Don’t stretch or distort the QR code

High contrast = better scans (eg black on white is ideal)

Avoid printing on shiny or uneven surfaces

Browser issues when creating QR codes

Use an up-to-date version of Chrome, Safari, Edge or Firefox

Enable JavaScript in your browser

Try clearing your browser’s cache or using a private browser window
